A funny video about school days. I hope you like it.

  Ciber bullying

Is bullying a new phenomenon? Definitely not, I think that it has always existed, if you make an effort and remember you schools days for sure you will remember somebody making fun of someone else, but on the other hand, what has certainly  changed is how cruel kids can be and in what different ways they can produce so much pain.   With the development of technology teens can continue their attack for hours and untiringly through the net, those social networks able to plunge into their most sensitive side  may lead them to depression, stress or even suicide. Then as adults, we must all be aware of this situation  and take part of it, as parents look after  our  own kids´  behavior and as teachers do not ignore any sign of bullying and act as soon as possible.

The challenges teachers face every single day in state run schools, here where I live.

Once a teacher told us ¨with good students, anyone can be a good teacher… but with bad student? ¨  And now I realize how right she was. I find students who can´t read or write, students who don`t have even  a pencil , I have seen kids wearing sandals  in winter,  not to mention   students who are hungry and the only thing they are waiting  for is something to eat, and the list goes on and on. What´s more, teachers who are not so different from them, teachers who survive in the middle of such a misery, perhaps to some of you I am exaggerating but if you have the chance, check it, go and visit those schools situated in the poor parts of where you live and you will be able to see it, to smell it, to feel it. Then  we have to work with this reality, try to teach English of course, but the most important challenge, in my personal opinion is, to show them that they can change their lives, that they can make their dreams come true… that they have their own future in their hands,  that there are ways to reach a better life. What I mean is, in other words, that we do not only have to  follow the curriculum, we can also follow our heart and treat them as the precious seeds  they are, and let them  flourish as the most beautiful flower that they could be.    There are obstacles?  Absolutely yes!  But sometimes the strongest one  is ourselves.
